1. Introduction

Welcome to FencingBuddies.com (the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and FencingBuddies.com (“FencingBuddies,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Services Description

FencingBuddies.com provides tools and features such as:

• Training logs, notes, and progress tracking
• Bout and opponent tracking
• Performance summaries and analytics (including ratings and trends, where available)
• Video submissions for coach review (when enabled)
• Coach feedback and communication tools (when enabled)
• Educational pose and movement feedback features (where available)

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must be at least 13 years old to create your own account.
• If you are under 13, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account.
• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized access to your account.

3.2 Account Types

• Fencer accounts: For individual fencers (13 and older) to track training and progress.
• Parent/guardian accounts: For parents/guardians managing accounts for fencers under 13.
• Coach accounts: For qualified fencing coaches reviewing videos and providing feedback (when enabled).

3.3 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

• Parents/guardians must register using their own information when managing accounts for fencers under 13.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for all activity under the account and for ensuring the minor’s compliance with these Terms.
• Parents/guardians must maintain the confidentiality of their credentials.
• When a child turns 13, they may be eligible to transition to their own account, subject to our policies at that time.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Billing and Auto-Renewal

If you purchase a subscription, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) until you cancel. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing cycle.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. Upon cancellation, access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing cycle.

Refunds

Except where required by law, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused features. We may provide exceptions at our discretion under extenuating circumstances.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to:

• Upload, share, or transmit content that is unlawful, offensive, abusive, harassing, or harmful.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
• Attempt to disrupt, damage, probe, or hack the Service or any related systems.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Use the Service to violate the rights of others, including privacy or intellectual property rights.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service (including software, features, designs, text, graphics, logos, and algorithms) is owned by FencingBuddies or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

• You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense any part of the Service.
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, models, or algorithms from the Service, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
• You may not remove or alter proprietary notices.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as notes, videos, and logs) (“User Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service (including generating feedback or analytics you request).

We do not sell your User Content. We may disclose it only as described in our Privacy Policy (if applicable) or as required by law.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required to protect the Service, users, or our rights. You may delete your account at any time (subject to any outstanding payment obligations).

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that results will be accurate or reliable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FencingBuddies and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
